Erika Nagys and her family have from from Hungary to California in search of gold. When they cannot pay the rent, erika must go to work for their nasty landlord. She forms a special bond with an injured horse which she nurses back to health. When the horse escapes, Erika finds it, and gold, in Blackwater Creek. But will newfound riches solve her family's problems?
