All weekend long Grandma tries to dispose of Grandpa's tatty old slippers but he refuses to part with them.

Joy Watson began writing stories for children after she and her pharmacist husband, Kevin, had raised nine children of their own. Grandpa’s Slippers is, perhaps unsurprisingly, based on Joy’s husband Kevin and his well-loved old slippers. Joy
says: “These books have been fun to write and I am constantly amazed at their popularity, but I believe children and grandparents have a very special bond which thrives on being able to laugh at each other.” Joy lives in Havelock North.
