Over 100 poems from 44 contributors make up this dynamic collection of poetry for Kiwi children. The initial premise was to give each poet a letter of the alphabet to work with but, as Jenny says in her introduction, poets can be 'notoriously difficult to control' and took liberal (and welcome) license on their directive. The result is a lively and diverse array of writing for children. from some of New Zealand's best and most interesting poets - including Cliff Fell, David Hill, Denis Welch, Jack Ross, James Brown, Kingi MacKinnon, Paula Green, and many others.

Jenny is a journalist based in Tauranga, and works closely with writers in the area also. She's also a member of the Tauranga Writer's Association, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. This is her first book for children. Debbie is a successful Reed illustrator, having written and illustrated Friends You Can Count On, and illustrated Angie Belcher's The Girls in the Kapahaka.
