AliceâÂÂs best friend always called her Alice Palace, it was part of a special bond they had â that is, until the day of the car crash, when her friend was killed.
Alice is devastated. She moves in a haze of guilt and loneliness, one that isolates her from all the well-meaning people around her.
In an attempt to help, AliceâÂÂs parents send her to her great-auntâÂÂs place in the country, to get away from anything that reminds her of her friend and the times they shared.
There she comes across a horse as lost and lonely as she is.
