Margaret Nash is an ex-children's librarian and regional schools' librarian. She is now an accomplished children's author and was awarded the Bronze Smarties Prize for under 5's in 1998. Susan Gates is an ex-teacher and literacy co-ordinator. She is now an experienced author, having written extensively for this age range as well as for older children.
