Ellie's mother is an embarrassment. She is loud and crazy and dresses up in leopard skin so that everyone will notice her. Everything she does makes Ellie cringe. When Ellie meets Sun, her first boyfriend, she decides she will never introduce him to her mother - she is just too different. Or is it that Sun is too different to introduce him to her hother? To be able to accept her friends and her parents for who they really are, Ellie needs to learn to accept herself. And this takes courage. This takes having leopard skin on the inside.
