"'Britain's answer to The Simpsons' - The Times; "The problems that go with being a younger sibling are well documented but Jamie Rix's take on the phenomenon is to appeal straight to the heart and humour of the matter." - Scotsman; 'If you've not come across this series, get ready for a severe injection of unconventionality... jilts from random thought to comic memory...' - Junior 'A perfect summer fun read... may particularly encourage reluctant readers.' - Lancashire Evening Post"

Jamie Rix is one of the funniest writers working in children's books today. As an older brother himself, he knows the sting in many of the humiliations he inflicts on his brilliant comic creation, Alistair Fury - because he used them on his own younger brother! Jamie's Grizzly Tales For Gruesome Kids won the 'Children's Choice' Smarties Award in 1990 and was subsequently adapted into an award-winning TV series. His teenage novel Johnny Casanova was shortlisted for the Lancashire Children's Book Award. Jamie has written several younger books including a number of picture books. From a theatrical family (he is the son of Brian (Lord) Rix), Jamie started work at the Royal Court and has worked on many BBC programmes including Alas Smith And Jones, Teenage Health Freak and How To Be A Little Sod.
